We recognize that visitors to our site may be concerned about the information they provide to us, and how we treat that information. This Privacy Policy addresses those concerns. Our Policy
NYS Tenant Bloc uses its best efforts to respect and protect the privacy of our online visitors and donors. We will never sell your email address or phone number for commercial purposes.
What information do we collect?
In various places on our website, we gather email addresses and other basic contact information for the purpose of allowing people to join the Tenant Bloc, take actions, RSVP for events and interface with social media sites, etc. We also gather contact information from individuals who choose to donate to us in order to process their donations, acknowledge them in a timely manner, and keep donors informed about the impact of our work. We may sell or lease your contact information to an allied organization, but we will never sell your contact information for commercial purposes.
The Tenant Bloc partners with third-party service providers to host our website, donation platform and email list. Third-party service providers are not permitted to use or share any personally identifiable information that we provide to them.
Like most website operators, our web servers create log files. Server log files do not contain personally identifiable information. These track data on Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to enable us to administer the site, analyze trends, track user movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Server log files do not contain personally identifiable information.
Petitions, Emails to Legislators, Event Sign Ups
For petitions and surveys you’ve signed or completed, we treat your name, city, state, and comments as public information – for example, we may provide compilations of petitions, with your comments, to legislators or public officials. We will not make your street address publicly available. In certain cases, we enable you to send individual emails directly to elected officials. These messages are sent in your name, with your e-mail address as the return address and your full name and contact information is provided as part of the submission. These messages will only be sent out under your name as you approve them on an individual basis using our email tool. You are solely responsible for the specific message(s) you send using our email tool.
Texting
By providing us with your phone number, you are consenting to receive informational communications from the Tenant Bloc about events, actions, and donation requests by phone. Regular message and data rates may apply. Msg frequency varies. You may text STOP to opt out at any time.
Financial Contributions
If you choose to contribute online to The Tenant Bloc, your credit card information will be used only for this transaction through our secure online payment system. The Tenant Bloc is fiscally-sponsored by the Working Families Organization.
